Welcome to the Mind Fuzz newsletter, a recap of three things that are on my mind this week.
1. Falling Behind In Life
I’m 27.
I’m single.
I don’t own a home, have a pet, or earn $10k/month (yet).
But I know I’m exactly where I want to be.
And my life is as fulfilling as it’s ever been.
It takes concerted effort to pursue goals that aren’t aligned with what everyone else is chasing.
Seeing your friends get married, have kids and buy a house together – yeah, that does make you feel like you’re falling behind.
But I’d argue the opposite is true.
I know all of that stuff will come in due time – and if it doesn’t, then it’s not meant to be.
For now, I’m being selfish.
Focusing on becoming the person that I’ve been suppressing for years.
I know that if I do that, everything will fall into place.
I can already see the pieces coming together.
2. The Power Of Show & Tell
Do you remember ‘show and tell’ at school?
Well, I feel like this is becoming an actual career path.
I think online creators are too often lumped into the ‘influencer’ category.
But they’re very different.
Whilst influencers generally use their looks and reach for promotion, creators use their ingenuity and personal experience to resonate with their audience on an entirely different level.
Basically – a lot of them are just doing cool stuff and telling us about.
It’s obvious us humans have a thirst for storytelling and personal experience.
That’s why you’re probably subscribed to this newsletter.
Even things you don’t find that interesting about your own life could be incredibly interesting to others.
What could you be showing and telling people about?
3. More Than Manifestation
“She wasn’t a person whom things happened for, she did all the happening,” Muriel Spark.
Your manifestation won’t work unless you put yourself in a position to receive the opportunity.
Things don’t just happen for you.
Just like things don’t just happen for others – even if you make yourself believe that.
Stop wishing for good things to happen, make good things happen.
You have chosen the life you’re living right now – even if you did so unconsciously.
It sucks?
Well good news… you can choose a better one.
But let me tell you, the road to a better one will suck even more.
Choosing discomfort is like that – for good reason.
But I promise you, embracing discomfort will get you further than manifestation.
A closing question for you
Are you falling behind in life? Or are you simply on a path less travelled?
