Welcome to the Mind Fuzz newsletter, a recap of three things that are on my mind this week.
1. Plastic Balls
So we’ve all got plastic in our balls, huh?
I don’t usually write about current ‘events’, but this is a big one.
If you haven’t seen it in the news, microplastics were found in the testicles of every single test subject in a recent study.
But an even more important finding has seemingly slipped through the cracks.
During a separate study just a couple of months ago, microplastics were found in every human placenta tested.
So not only are we accruing microplastics in our body over time.
But now babies are being born with microplastics already in their body.
I’m not one to write ‘outage’ material, so I’ll leave it there for now.
But this is not something to be taken lightly.
2. Homograph Hatred
I’m convinced the word ‘queue’ exists just to f*ck with us.
The more I study the English language, the more I start to despise it (in a cute playful kinda way).
Seriously though, queue, four silent letters in a five letter word.
I’ve heard English is one of the most difficult languages to learn, and I’m really starting to see why.
Whoever came up with the word queue had to be taking the p*ss.
The funny thing is, we just go along with it and act like that’s how it should be spelt.
And don’t even get me started on homographs (words that sound the same but are spelt differently).
Buy, by, bye… really?
We can make so many sounds with our mouths – can’t we just try some new ones?
I’m already dealing with microplastics in my balls, now this!!!
3. Yeezy Wisdom
“I’m so gifted at finding what I don’t like the most,” Kanye West Runaway.
Song lyrics really just hit different depending on what state of life you’re at.
I was having my quarterly listen to Runaway by Kanye West and this line hit me.
We’re all so good at finding the things we don’t like in life, instead of truly appreciating the things we have.
No matter how good we have it, there’s always something seemingly missing.
It’s so hard to know when enough is enough.
If you asked me what enough is, I certainly couldn’t tell ya.
Maybe enough is having a beautiful coffee and writing this newsletter for you guys.
It sure does make me bloody happy.
Maybe that’s all it takes?
A closing question for you
If you were a microplastic, which part of someone’s body would you visit first?
