Welcome to the Mind Fuzz newsletter, a recap of three things that are on my mind this week.
1. Selling Yourself
Selling yourself is bloody hard.
I’m convinced the most successful people on this planet are where they are because they have nailed the ability to do this.
You can either do it one of two ways.
Become an expert bullsh*tter, or become someone worth selling.
Selling yourself becomes so much easier when you’re a better product.
Expert bullsh*tters are professional liars and exaggerators.
Imagine actually being a person you’re proud of and having the skill set to match.
A high value skill, coupled with the ability to promote yourself shamelessly?
Boy, that’s powerful.
p.s. I still suck at this x
2. Chasing Flow
Success is not working on weekends.
Success is wanting to work on weekends.
No, this ain’t that hustle culture crap.
This is the discovery of creative flow.
Contrary to the point above, I think creative flow is perhaps the only thing you should go out of your way to chase.
The flow that comes from an activity that challenges and rewards you simultaneously.
Writing.
Running.
Coding.
Building.
Whatever this may be for you.
Chase the hell out of it.
3. Seeking Nature
“So many times I realised, what I seek for is right in front of my eyes”
Yung Lean – Agony
The importance of finding joy in the seemingly mundane is becoming more apparent to me than ever.
To me, this is nature, movement, coffee, smiles.
I say ‘seemingly’ mundane because somewhere along the way I came up with the idea that life had more to offer than these simple pleasures.
But I think they’re the pinnacle.
And seeking anything beyond them seems to pull me away from the simple gifts nature has already provided.
Maybe the challenge you’re so desperately seeking is simply learning how to enjoy them?
I know that’s mine.
