Volume 40: Instagram, Misogi & That Tiny Space

Welcome to the Mind Fuzz newsletter, a recap of three things that are on my mind this week.

1. Instagram

Okay, I’ve started posting on Instagram (@jacksmindfuzz if you want to follow along)

It’s taken me so long to start posting…

I admit, I’ve been paralysed by perfectionism.

I constantly tell you guys not to wait for the perfect time to start, so I decided to take my own advice.

I’ve been creating some really fun stuff this weekend, and I’m trying to do so without boundaries.

That’s what this week’s article is about, and I think you’ll really like it.

I don’t know where it’s going to lead, but I’m going to have a fun time making some cool stuff!!!

2. Misogi

This week I learnt about Misogi.

It’s a Japanese purification ritual which involves cleansing the body, mind, and spirit through extreme activity.

In other words, doing something really damn hard so you can see what you’re capable of.

It got me thinking… I haven’t done anything like this in a long, long time.

I exercise every day, and I push myself…

But I never push myself.

I think we’re all missing a bit of physical pain in our lives.

And I think this lack of physical pain slowly amounts to a significant amount of mental pain over time.

Maybe a Misogi is what I need right now…

Will keep you updated x

3. That Tiny Space

“Circumstances don’t make the man, they only reveal him to himself.”

Epictetus

Lots going on in my life at the moment, and some big changes on the way.

I constantly try to remind myself of this quote.

It’s so cool that we were built with the ability to act how we want under literally any circumstance.

The only thing stopping us from choosing is that split second between the happening and the reaction.

That tiny moment defines the man, not the thing that comes before it.

Keep reminding myself this.

He used to be a journalist, then he got bored. Now he writes about random stuff on the internet.
