Volume 49: Happenstance, 2200 Kelvin & Google Things

Welcome to the Mind Fuzz newsletter, a recap of three things that are on my mind this week.

1. Happenstance

I’m starting to think things don’t actually happen for a reason… they just happen.

And I think constantly trying to come up with a reason for something happening, good or bad, is why we struggle to accept a lot of the stuff that goes on in our lives.

It’s trying to attach a perceived human emotion to a happening that’s absolutely in no way related to us or our thoughts.

I’m trying to accept this.

Things don’t happen for a reason, they just happen.

It doesn’t matter where the thing came from or why it happened, all that matters is what we do next.

2. 2200 Kelvin

2200 Kelvin is the best colour spectrum and I won’t even listen to an opposing argument!!!

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been tussling and toiling trying to get the perfect lighting environment in my apartment.

It’s like crispy warm now.

You don’t realise how important good lighting is until you have it.

The fear of overhead lights is real, and I’ve got the phobia (I’ve just gotta coin the word).

Replace all your lightbulbs with 2200 Kelvin bulbs, your circadian rhythm will thank you.

3. Google Things

I want to take the third slot of this week’s newsletter to say a humungous thank you.

After a year of (almost) weekly posting, one of my articles has reached the front page of Google in Australia!!!

It’s also been included in the AI response which is WILD.

All because of ya’ll.

I can’t express how grateful I am to have people from 97 (!!!) countries read my writing.

I don’t know what the future holds, and I don’t want to know.

But for now, it’s really cool being able to write for you guys.

The fact that you’re actually getting something from it is an incredible feeling.

So, again, thank you.

He used to be a journalist, then he got bored. Now he writes about random stuff on the internet.
