Welcome to the Mind Fuzz newsletter, a recap of three things that are on my mind this week.
1. Tree Love
I’ve been busy falling in love with trees this week.
It all stemmed from the swamp episode on Avatar.
More specifically, this quote:
“You think you’re any different from me? Or your friends? Or this tree? If you listen hard enough, you can hear every living thing breathing together” – Huu.
Nature is incomprehensible.
It’s incompressible, too, that we think we aren’t a part of it.
I’m glad I’ve reached a point in my life where I’m starting to realise its true power.
And I feel so lucky that I live in a part of the world where I can run around in it and bask in its beauty whenever I please.
Sometimes I even get so into it that I try and eat a leaf but I swear that sh*t is actually kinda poisonous so don’t do that.
Anyway…
Nature = cool
2. The Internet
I’ve also been kinda loving the internet this week.
Not necessarily the things on it, but the idea of it in general.
I’m making so many internet friends lately (you guys are included in that).
And I’ve just been thinking, isn’t it amazing that you’re on the other side of the world and I can just tell you about my week?
You don’t even know me.
I don’t even know you.
But here we are, chatting away.
The fact we can get perspective from someone in a different country, living a completely different life, is wild.
What’s even wilder is when you realise most people are going through the exact same struggles as you.
It’s kinda comforting, don’t you think?
3. Silence
“Rien à dire alors on se tait tant mieux.”
Pomplamoose – À Cabo
Translated: nothing to say, so we both keep quiet.
I wrote about the importance of silence for your own mind last week, but I also think silence when in company is just as cool.
When you’re not trying to fill a space, when you’re just letting the space be.
The people I like hanging out with most are those who know when to let a silence linger.
Like, let’s go get a coffee and chat.
But then quit yapping and lemme watch the waves in silence.
